US manufacturing PMI showed a rise in March

The manufacturing PMI showed a strong increase in March, rising 2.5 percentage points from February to 50.3 percent. The economy as a whole has continued to expand for 47 months, signalling solid growth. The new orders index moved back into expansion territory at 51.4 percent, above the February reading. In addition, the production and price index also rose, contributing to the positive economic outlook.
