Toyota shut down its Mexican plant several times after suppliers faced labour shortages

Toyota Motor was forced to shut down production at a Mexican plant several times in February and March after a shortage of local labour forced suppliers to halt production, according to people familiar with the carmaker’s operations.
Toyota halted production for a total of 19 days in February and March at its plant in Tijuana, Mexico, where it makes the Tacoma pick-up truck, according to two people. Technical problems at the plant also contributed to the shutdown.
