Tesla promises “more affordable” cars when the all-new Model 2 hits the shelves

Tesla on Tuesday announced it will introduce “new models” on its current platforms and production lines by early 2025, as it backed away from more ambitious plans to produce an all-new model at a cost of $25,000.
Rumors of new proposals for a faster timetable led to a soaring of Tesla shares in after-hours trading, a much-needed boost after months of decline during which Tesla has struggled with fierce competition and declining sales. The increase came despite Tesla posting first-quarter results that fell short of Wall Street expectations.
