Job openings in the US increased in February

Job openings in the US increased in February, although labour market conditions are gradually easing, underpinning expectations that the Federal Reserve may start cutting interest rates this year.
According to the Labor Department’s Job Openings and Labor Turnover Survey, or JOLTS, report on Tuesday, there were 1.36 job openings for every unemployed person in February, up from 1.43 in January. The drop in the vacancy/unemployment rate reflected a spike in unemployment at the beginning of the year.
