Euro area inflation fell slightly in June

According to a flash estimate by Eurostat, the statistical office of the European Union, annual inflation in the euro area is expected to be 2.5% in June 2024, down slightly from 2.6% in May.
Among the main components of inflation, the annual rate for services is expected to remain the highest in June (4.1%, unchanged from May).
Food, alcohol and tobacco inflation is expected to fall to 2.5% (from 2.6% in May), non-energy industrial inflation to remain stable at 0.7%, while energy inflation is expected to ease to 0.2% (from 0.3% in May).
