Small business sentiment in the US improved in May

U.S. small business confidence and hiring plans rose to their highest levels of the year in May, but the upcoming U.S. presidential election also pushed uncertainty to a near four-year high, according to a survey released Tuesday.
The National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) said its small business optimism index rose eight-tenths of a point to 90.5 last month.
