Swiss consumer prices rose by 0.3% in May
June 4, 2024
The consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.3% in May 2024 compared with the previous month, reaching 107.7 points.
Compared to the same month last year, inflation was +1.4%. These are the results of the Federal Statistics Office (FSO). The increase of 0.3% compared to the previous month is due to several factors, including the rise in the price of renting a home and international package holidays. The price of various fresh vegetables and petrol also rose. In contrast, the price of heating oil and foreign red wine fell, as did the price of additional accommodation.
