EigenLayer announces the launch of its native token

In a statement released by the popular restaking protocol EigenLayer, it was revealed that they plan to launch their native token, Eigent, in May. The independent nonprofit Eigen Foundation will issue the token, with a total supply of 1.67 billion tokens at launch, 45% of which is intended to be distributed to the community, much to the delight of protocol stakers who can look forward to the airdrop.
