BtcTurk Hacked
One of the largest Turkish cryptocurrency brokers, BtcTurk, has suffered a cyberattack. It appears that ten hot wallets were affected, primarily involving the theft of AVAX assets. Binance has announced its assistance in investigating the hack and has frozen over $5.3 million worth of stolen assets so far. Blockchain investigator ZachXBT estimates the damage at around $55 million. The stolen assets were linked to a large AVAX sale, sent to Binance and Coinbase, and then withdrawn as Bitcoin into two separate wallets.
CoinStats Also Under Attack
The popular cryptocurrency portfolio management app, CoinStats, has alerted its users about a malicious security incident on the platform, resulting in the vulnerability of created wallets. The company urges users to transfer their assets to another location as soon as possible, especially those who have exported their private keys into the app.
