FTX Auditor Agrees to Pay Fine
The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has reached an agreement with Prager Metis, the auditing firm responsible for the bankrupt crypto broker FTX. The firm agreed to pay a $1.95 million fine for two key charges: falsely assessing FTX’s financial health and failing to disclose the relationship between Alameda and FTX.
JPMorgan Among Largest Blockchain Users
Jamie Dimon, CEO of the U.S.’s largest bank, JPMorgan Chase, known for his skepticism of cryptocurrencies, stated that his bank is likely one of the largest actual users of blockchain technology. According to Dimon, blockchain is simply a good way to share data, though he remains highly critical of crypto assets.
LayerZero Launches New Program for Developers
The LayerZero Foundation announced the launch of its lzCatalyst program, which connects developers with venture capital firms. Partners in the program include a16z Crypto, Animoca Brands, PayPal Ventures, and Franklin Templeton. Venture capitalists could invest up to $300 million in the development of omnichain applications built on LayerZero.
Google Cloud Launches New Blockchain Service
Google Cloud has unveiled its new Blockchain RPC (Remote Procedure Call) service, providing developers with a simplified way to interact with blockchain data. The Blockchain RPC is fully compatible with the Ethereum JSON-RPC standard, allowing developers to integrate it into their applications with just a single line of code.
