Coinbase's New Partner: ZetaChain
Coinbase has partnered with ZetaChain, a layer-1 blockchain designed for chain abstraction. As part of this collaboration, Coinbase has integrated the ZetaChain mainnet into its ecosystem, and Coinbase Prime now supports institutional custody for ZETA. Additionally, Coinbase has joined the network as a validator, enabling native ZETA staking and rewards. ZetaChain has also launched full support for the Base chain, facilitating interactions between Base, Bitcoin, Ethereum, and other networks.
Radiant Capital Hacked
Radiant Capital, a decentralized finance project built on LayerZero, has suffered losses exceeding $50 million due to a cyberattack. The attacker gained access to backdoor contracts deployed on the networks, stealing over $32 million worth of Arbitrum-based crypto assets and approximately $18 million worth of BNB Chain tokens.
zkPass Raises $12.5 Million
zkPass, a data verification and privacy-focused company, has raised $12.5 million in a Series A funding round. The investors included dao5, Animoca Brands, Flow Traders, Amber Group, IOBC Capital, Signum Capital, MH Ventures, and WAGMI Ventures. The funding is a SAFT (Simple Agreement for Future Tokens), with the tokens expected to launch in the first quarter of next year.
Kraken Introduces kBTC
The crypto brokerage Kraken has announced the launch of its own wrapped Bitcoin, called kBTC, which is an ERC-20 token fully backed by Bitcoin. kBTC brings the utility of Bitcoin to Ethereum and OP Mainnet, with plans for compatibility across multiple networks.
