April 25, 2024
Consensys, the software company founded by Joseph Lubin, one of the co-founders of the Ethereum blockchain, has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) in a federal court in Texas. The lawsuit aims to preempt an impending SEC lawsuit against the company over the popular MetaMask crypto wallet’s functionalities and seeks an official declaration from the SEC that Ethereum’s digital token, Ether, is not a security.
