Changpeng “CZ” Zhao, the former CEO of Binance, has been sentenced to four months in prison after pleading guilty to money laundering charges back in November 2023 and agreeing to pay a $50 million fine. During the sentencing on Tuesday, Zhao apologized and said he wanted to take responsibility for his “mistakes.” He also mentioned that Binance has implemented a Know Your Customer and anti-money laundering policy and is cooperating with the government.
