Coinbase integrates Lightning Network starting today

The Coinbase cryptocurrency broker finally introduces long-awaited support for the Lightning Network, providing users with a faster and cheaper way to conduct Bitcoin transactions. The Lightning Network, launched in 2017, is a Bitcoin layer 2 protocol aimed at solving scalability issues through bi-directional payment channels that enable off-chain, nearly instant, low-cost transactions without requiring immediate settlement on the base layer.
