Landesbank Baden-Württemberg, Germany’s largest federal bank, has announced a partnership with the Austrian cryptocurrency broker Bitpanda. Within the framework of this partnership, Bitpanda would offer custody services to the bank’s institutional and corporate clients starting from the second half of 2024. German banks and asset managers have been increasingly active in the cryptocurrency space, offering custody services and developing their own products for the asset class ahead of the EU regulations coming into effect by the end of this year.
