University of Toronto to Become an XRP Ledger Validator

The University of Toronto, one of Canada’s largest universities, is joining the ranks of independent XRP Ledger validators. This partnership is part of Ripple’s Canadian initiative called the University Blockchain Research Initiative (UBRI), through which the company has already invested over $2 million in the country’s top universities over the course of five years to contribute to blockchain and cryptocurrency research in Canada.
